After being ambushed by the ten immortal sects while trying to steal the Wanjun Sword, Lu Zhao Yao dies, believing her ally, Li Chen Lan, the demon king's son, is responsible. Five years later, Zhao Yao returns as a spirit to seek revenge, but as she trains under Li Chen Lan, her feelings for him begin to change.
